NO HOT DOGS
Every year, hundreds of dogs die from heatstroke after being left in parked cars by their owners.
During the summer of 2014 in Portland, we kept seeing dogs trapped in sweltering cars, panting and struggling in the heat. It was heartbreaking to watch. Even more frustrating? Knowing there was very little we could legally do to help.
So we decided to do something about it.
We created stickers to warn owners about the dangers of leaving dogs in hot cars, along with an Instagram account to spread awareness and share information about pet safety.
What surprised us most? Many owners genuinely had no idea that leaving their dog in a car for just five minutes could have deadly consequences.
The idea caught on. People from across the U.S. started requesting stickers, so we shipped them nationwide, turning a small local initiative into a much bigger movement.
A simple sticker. A potentially life-saving message.
SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY
Two things I've always been passionate about: sports and photography. So naturally, I found a way to combine the two.
While living in Portland, I had the chance to shoot some incredible sporting events, from NBA, MLS and NWSL games to the Nike Hoop Summit.
Getting up close to the action, capturing split-second moments, and photographing some of the world's best athletes was a pretty amazing experience.
And somewhere between the courtside seats and the sidelines, I went from passionate amateur to a much more serious sports photographer.
Not a bad way to spend a weekend.
